About Us The Manitoulin Amateur Radio Club (M.A.R.C.) was formed by four members in 1988. They were Oscar Yarnald (VE3OPY now VE6OPY), Doug Becks (VE3DBK), Allan Boyd (VE3AJB), and silent key Mike Smith (VE3CHS). These four gentlemen applied for a New Horizons Grant. With this, VE3RMI (Repeater Manitoulin Island) was put on the air April 10th, 1988. The club grew quickly with the formation of classes put on by VE3AJB & VE3DBK. At present the club has ~60 members and now owns and operates three 2m repeaters... VE3RMI (147.270 +) and VE3LTR (146.67-) and VE3RXR (145.310- AND it requires a 156.7 PL tone) as well as one UHF machine VE3RQQ (444.300+ IRLP Node 2860)
